Allinial Global 2024 APAC Roadshow: The Sun Rose Again from the East
The 2024 APAC Roadshow was an incredible journey that spanned six cities, involved over 18,000 kilometers of travel, and engaged participants in meaningful conversations about the future of business in the Asia Pacific region. Each destination offered unique insights and experiences that enriched members’ understanding of global trends and reinforced the value of cross-border partnerships.
Beginning in the vibrant cities of Vietnam, traveling through the innovation hubs of China, and culminating with engagements in Singapore and Malaysia, our 2024 APAC Roadshow demonstrated the power of unity and adaptability in a rapidly evolving world.
Vietnam: Strengthening Foundations for Cross-Border Collaboration
Our roadshow launched in Vietnam, where visits to the Investment and Trade Promotion Centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong helped our members explore the country’s attractive investment climate. Our Vietnamese member firm, Tri Thuc Viet Co., Ltd., hosted a town hall and cultural exchange, giving attendees a glimpse of Vietnam’s vibrant business environment and rich cultural history. A highlight was the meeting with the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA) in Hanoi, where we discussed the importance of transparency, regulatory adherence, and the shared goal of advancing accounting standards across Southeast Asia.
We also visited the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Ho Chi Minh City, where we celebrated AmCham’s 30th anniversary in Vietnam. This session opened doors for future collaboration with American companies operating in Vietnam, highlighting the mutual benefits of cross-cultural exchange. The roadshow’s early days in Vietnam laid a foundation for strong relationships and set the stage for engagement and expansion.
China: Discovering Innovation and Future Technologies
Our journey through China was a deep dive into the future of technology and innovation, showcasing the country’s rapid advancements and critical role in the global economy. In Shanghai, the Allinial Global team visited the headquarters of Jidu Auto, a trailblazer in the autonomous electric vehicle sector and a joint venture between Geely and Baidu. Jidu’s work in L4 autonomous driving technology exemplifies China’s embrace of artificial intelligence and its transformative potential in industries like automotive manufacturing. Our members were inspired by Jidu’s groundbreaking technology and the possibilities it presents for the future of global commerce.
Another memorable stop was in Shenzhen at Kingdee International Software Group, China’s top enterprise resource planning (ERP) provider. Also known as the “Golden Butterfly” (a symbol of transformation), Kingdee embodies China’s digital transformation through its cloud-based ERP solutions that streamline business functions. This visit reinforced the importance of integrating technology into business practices to support growth and efficiency, a takeaway that resonated with members from many regions.
Our roadshow journey through China concluded with a networking dinner boat tour along the iconic Huangpu River, where members enjoyed opportunities to exchange insights about leveraging technology and digitalization to drive success.
Singapore: Uniting Global Voices and Sharing Inspiring Stories
Singapore hosted the 2024 Allinial Global Forum, drawing attendees from over 60 countries. Our new AGx Talks—a series of TEDx-style presentations featuring inspiring 10-minute speeches from members—were a standout feature. Leaders like Neil Hughes from Ireland and Alyssa Martin from the United States shared powerful stories of resilience, adaptability, and leadership. From overcoming challenges in foreign markets to scaling firms on the global stage, each AGx Talk provided valuable lessons and motivated attendees to embrace new perspectives and strategies.
A panel session titled “Navigating Tomorrow: Global Commerce on Key Priorities” fostered a collaborative discussion on industry challenges and emerging trends. With experts from across the globe weighing in, the panel invited attendees to think strategically about the future of commerce and explore innovative ways to adapt to evolving market demands.
The Singapore leg of the tour culminated with a team-building retreat on Sentosa Island. The day allowed members to bond, unwind, and reflect on the roadshow’s achievements. Activities like perfume-making at Scentopia and discussions over dinner helped strengthen team cohesion, reminding everyone that successful collaboration comes from personal connection and mutual respect.
Malaysia: Celebrating Milestones and Future Aspirations
The roadshow concluded with the grand opening of member firm ASQ Consulting Group’s new headquarters in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, which attracted more than 500 attendees—including government officials, clients, and fellow AG members who gathered to celebrate this important milestone. Featuring Japanese drummers and traditional Chinese lion dancers, the celebration embodied the spirit of unity and marked a new chapter for ASQ Consulting Group and the broader Allinial Global community. What a fitting end to a roadshow dedicated to fostering relationships, exploring new markets, and advancing shared goals!
Empowering Regional Growth and Global Collaboration
In addition to the insight it provided on global business trends and cross-border collaboration, the 2024 APAC Roadshow was a powerful reminder of the importance of empathy, emotional intelligence, and cultural awareness in today’s interconnected world. From Vietnam’s dynamic investment opportunities to China’s technological advancements, Singapore’s community of thought leaders, and Malaysia’s celebratory spirit, the APAC Roadshow highlighted the diverse strengths of each region and the potential of a unified global network.
Special thanks to our APAC Regional Director Abby Chee, whose tireless dedication ensured the roadshow’s success. Her meticulous planning and strategic vision brought the tour to life, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
The 2024 APAC Roadshow may have ended, but its impact will resonate for years to come. Thank you to all our members, sponsors, and hosts. We look forward to continuing this journey of shared learning, collaboration, and growth, elevating the Allinial Global community to even greater heights in the years ahead.
